What is a Pre-Workout ? 

A pre-workout is a dietary supplement, formulated with ingredients that work together to ramp up your energy and endurance, increase strength, crank up muscle growth, and burn off body fat. There are many ingredients that make up Pre-Workouts, which are; 

BETA-ALANINE is an amino acid that combines with the amino acid histidine in muscle cells to form carnosine, which is critical for muscle strength.

BETAINE is a modified amino acid known as trimethylglycine. It’s effective for boosting muscle strength and power by as much as 25% and increasing the number of reps you can do by 10 percent.

BRANCHED-CHAIN AMINO ACIDS (BCAAs) include the three amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. They’re important for driving muscle growth, increasing energy, and blunting fatigue.

CAFFEINE is a powerful stimulant that increases alertness by binding to receptors in the brain. This keeps nerve activity up and fatigue down.

CITRULLINE MALATE is a combo of the amino acid citrulline and malic acid. It increases energy levels by removing ammonia from the body—a process that delays fatigue and improves recovery.

CREATINE provides muscles with the quick energy they need during workouts. It also pulls more water into the muscles for a greater pump, which turns on processes that lead to greater long-term muscle growth.

GLYCEROL is the backbone of triglycerides—the primary fats in our diet. It also has strong osmotic properties, attracting and binding large amounts of fluids like water for greater pump.

TAURINE is an amino acid that helps to increase muscle endurance and strength. It can increase blood flow to muscles by enhancing NO production. Taurine also draws water into your muscles for a bigger pump.

TYROSINE is an amino acid that boosts energy, mood, and mental focus by producing hormones and neurotransmitters that boost your intensity during workouts.

I have only used two pre workouts in my time. One being, GNC GenetixHD™ Pro-Sculpt™ - Fruit Punch . On the label on the back, it tells you to "As a dietary supplement, add one scoop to a 10oz of cold water and mix well. To avoid settling, consume immediately after mixing and continue to stir product while drinking. For maximum results use two servings daily." 

When I first started using this supplement, I was using one scoop of this before my workouts, for maybe two days. Then I up-it-up to two scoops before my workouts. It says for the best results, use two servings daily. Sometimes when I preform "TwoADays" I used an extra scoop later that day. Which means, I would have had three servings that day. 

I am not saying this is healthy, and I am not saying to try it. I know my body and I could handle it. However; I will say, if you are purchasing this product or thinking about it. Try drinking it before you get into the gym. while you are still home or at work. So when you do get to the gym, you can feel the energy flowing. 

This pre-workout is pretty great, and the Pink Lemonade flavor is my favorite. On the contrary, you may or you may not get the jitters. It is up to your body, do not freak out, it is normal. Your body just isn't use to it.

This pre-workout has done my body justice, up until I switched.

Last November, I switched pre-workouts. I wanted to experience and explore something new with pre-workouts. So I purchased, FINAFLEX® STIMUL8™ Bonus Size - Apple Blast. This s*** is MASSIVE, and works like CRAZY! 

True story, when I first started consuming this product I was still drinking coffee. The caffeine inside of Stimul8 is extremely HIGH! In the morning when taking this product, I would go into work later that day and have coffee. I did not know that that was a huge no-no. 

I thought I was suffering from anxiety attacks, i was at work going crazy. My mind was racing, and it felt like something was in my head and it was about to exploded, because the thing needed to get out my head. 

It made me extremely anxious, nervous and my heart rate was racing to jump out of my chest. I had to leave out of work on multiple occasions, and walk around the block to let the cold wind, chill me out.  It was crazy bruh, I was scared as f***! I am normally more aware and observant of these things, and I read the reviews before I purchased it. But I saw nothing about "if I drink 2 cups of coffee a day, would it feel like I am having a mental and physical breakdown, while also having loads and loads of energy" lol. 

Furthermore; I panic, and ran to the doctors. They asked me if I added anything ew to my diet and what changed over the past week or so. At first I couldn't think of anything, but then I later realized that it was my pre workout that changed. After pulling the label up on my phone for the Stimul8, my doctor told me it was the caffeine.  

I have cut coffee out of my diet for now, because  gym is life. and I am great. This product is great. I only have one scoop in a 20oz cup, and I have it every morning before the gym. When I preform "TwoADays". I do consume a second scoop later that day, and I am still fine. However; I also be wide awake at 10pm that night. 

It is best that you drink both of these Pre-Workouts 5hrs before you go to sleep. If you get off work at 5pm-6pm or later and drink either or Pre-Workout. YOU WILL BE UP AT NIGHT!

Lastly, if you are afraid or just not into the using pre workouts, but still need energy for your workouts. Simply drink Coffee !
