Get You Some Cider!

I've recently shared one of my health tips which is Apple Cider Vinegar. I've been using Apple Cider for some time now, in more ways than one actually. 

For the longest, I've been using a teaspoon or two of Cider in a clay mask that helps clear up dark spots and random acne break-outs that may pop up. I also, from time-to-time, soak my feet in it, and I take a shot of it as well. As of recently, I started dieting pretty heavy trying to lose some very very very stubborn body fat in my midsection and after some research. I've come across a pretty tasty concoction that I drink three times a day, as soon as I wake up, right before lunch, and before I go to bed. 

Apple Cider + Water + Lemonade. 

Not only does this help out with weight loss, and clears up your skin, but it's also a great natural detox—and you know I am all about natural. I keep a large pitcher of this drink in the fridge on standby. 

My stomach is pretty sensitive, and due to me fasting I sometimes get horrible cramps that make me want to crawl into the fetal position and beg for mercy. Over the past weekend, the pain returned, and I quickly researched what was a natural remedy to cure this pan? 

Apple Cider + Warm Water + Honey 

My stomach was cleared and pain-free within a matter of minutes (I wouldn't lie.) I learned that the main reason for my stomach problems has been due to the imbalance or lack of acid, and Apple Cider provides high Pectin which then soothes an irritated stomach of an entire gastrointestinal tract and relieves cramps, gas, bloating and nausea. Apple Cider is a natural antibiotic that helps to alkalize the body by improving the body’s pH levels.

Pectin is a starch (a heteropolysaccharide, if you must know) that occurs naturally in the cell walls of fruits and vegetables. It is, in fact, the very thing that gives them structure. When cooked to a high temperature (220ºF) in combination with acid and sugar, it forms a gel.

This is what gives jams and jellies their set when they cool. Pectin can be used in other dishes that require food to gel or thicken. It’s also used as a fat substitute in some baked goods. 

Also, as you know (or if you don't), I have Type 1 Diabetes and Cider helps controls the level balance of my blood sugar. A cup before bed results in lower glucose levels by morning, and a cup before eating a high carbohydrate meal lower blood sugar afterward. 

But the greatness of Apple Cider does not stop there. Apple cider also: 

  • Fades bruises
  • Whitens teeth
  • Banishes bad breath
  • Helps with leg cramps
  • Boosts energy
  • Clears a stuffy nose
  • Prevents indigestion
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Soothes a sore throat
  • Cures hiccups
  • Gets rid of dandruff

Apple Cider also helps break down Protein that we intake. So say if you are like me and drink two to three shakes day. The Acid in Apple Cider will help break down the Protein and balance you out.

Apple Cider checked off so much on my list I had to share. And before I forget, no you cannot OD on Apple Cider, nor will it mess up your kidneys. However, too much of a good thing could be bad for you. Three cups a day (mixed with water that is, or if not with water, just do a shot) should be the limit.
